Some businesses are planned.

Mine grew naturally, step by step. There wasn’t one moment where I decided, “I’m going to start a home staging company.” It happened slowly. Without me even planning it that way.

I’ve always loved design. From fashion, fabrics, and lines to interiors, light, and space. It was always there. And for me, it was never just about how something looks. It’s about how it feels when you walk into a space. That moment when everything just feels right.

After my second daughter was born, something changed in me. I felt a strong need to build something of my own. Not just creatively, but also financially. I wanted independence. I wanted something that is mine. I didn’t have a full plan. But I trusted my intuition

So I started.

When I got into real estate in Chicago, I started noticing things I couldn’t ignore. Beautiful homes… that didn’t feel special when you walked in. Everything was there, but something was missing. 

That’s when it clicked for me.

Home staging is not just about furniture. It’s about creating a feeling. A first impression. Because buyers don’t just see a home.

They feel it.

And that’s what home staging in Chicago is really about. Well-designed, professionally staged homes stand out more, connect faster with buyers, and often sell quicker and at a higher value.

A big step for me was joining Dream Town Realty as a real estate agent. That’s where I got my first real opportunities. My first projects. I learned by doing. By being inside the process. That experience gave me a deeper understanding of how buyers think, and what makes a property stand out in the Chicago market.

With every project, I reinvested back into the business. I bought more furniture. Added more pieces. Built slowly, step by step. But it was never just about adding more. I was very intentional about what I chose: 

The fabrics.

The textures.

The tones.

Each piece had to feel right on its own, and more importantly, feel right together. 

That’s how O Designs By Orli Shoshan grew. Not just in size, but in identity. Over time, it became a luxury home staging company in Chicago, from partial to vacant, condos and houses the goal is always the same: to highlight the architecture, flow, and lifestyle of each property.

At the beginning, I worked with STI Moving & Storage. They were a big part of my early days. As the business grew, I made a decision. To build my own team. We got our own truck. Hired professional movers. Created our own way of working.

Today, O Designs By Orli Shoshan focuses on luxury home staging and real estate presentation in Chicago. We create spaces that feel right. Clean, calm, and intentional. With a strong focus on materials, layers, and textures that elevate the space without overwhelming it. Because in today’s competitive real estate market, how a home feels is just as important as how it looks.

None of this would be possible without my team. They are talented, hardworking, and part of everything we do.

If there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s this: You don’t need to have everything figured out.

You just need to start. Trust yourself. Stay consistent. And love what you do.
